Analysis, preface

We'd like to begin our analysis by pointing out that the duty trousers for both the DS9/NEM and VOY uniforms were more or less the same (except the splits at the bottom center front - more on that later).

This is hardly surprising, considering that the duty trousers on all three productions (Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and the latter three TNG movies) were all during the same production years of the franchise. 

This being the case, we'll be primarily analyzing the duty trousers for both the DS9/NEM and VOY uniform eras as a single garment, with numerous examples from all three productions in which they were seen.

In other words, the duty trousers seen on Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and the TNG movies were basically the same (although the other uniform garments were different), so we'll be analyzing them all together. 

Now, let's take a look at these trousers!
