Tutorial, part 7c - Overalls Facing

Pin the overalls facing assembly to the overalls attachment along the center front, upper front, arm hole, and suspender edges (basically everywhere except the bottom), matching edges and seam lines.

Sew one side of the overalls facing assembly to the overalls attachment in one long continuous stitch (from lower center front, under the arms, all the way up and around the suspender, to the center back), reinforcing the stitch lines at the corners.

The stitch line should end at the center back exactly at the dot on the printed pattern (where you stopped sewing the center backs together earlier).

TIP: Use a zipper/piping foot along the center front edge to get the facing assembly to fold close to the underside of the invisible zipper.

Diagonally cut away seam allowances at the upper corners of the center front and the outer corners of the overall suspenders.

Trim the side (underarm) seam allowances down to ¼" or even ⅛" so they curve more easily. Alternatively, clip them as needed.

Turn the facing assembly under (so right sides are out) and press.
